Could I be a descendant of the biblical Hebrews of the Old Testament??

I always question and wonder why some African were enslaved and some was doing the enslaving. I always thought that either my ancienter where the weak ones and the other ones were the stronger/richer ones (making me feel like I came from a weak bloodline of people). I mean why would someone enslave their own family members or bloodline...Unless the people that were enslave where not from the country and that they were a different bread of people or different bloodline in a unfamiliar land ( explain easy capture). See I would like to think that my ancestors come from West Africa, well that is what I was taught. But then I would have to accept that my bloodline was either weak, poor or not a smart group of people. Even when I visit Nigeria slave trade ports and talk to some of the people there no one could tell me why certain people where enslaved and other tribe weren't. The closet explanation I have received that made sense to me was that members of the Original African Hebrew Israelite Nation of Jerusalem (or the African Israelite, for short) believe that, after the Roman expulsion of the Jews from the land of Israel, many Jews migrated to West Africa. From there, their descendants were transported by slave ship to the United States, where the group began in the 1960s. According to this view, the biblical Hebrews of the Old Testament times had multiracial descendants. So this made me think that people of color that were part of the slave trade are descendants of the Israelite??

Facts are:

  • Interactions between the Hebrews and African nations are documented throughout the Old Testament.
  • There is a group of  Jews living in Africa today who practice a very ancient form of Judaism. Unlike the modern Original African Hebrew Israelite Nation of Jerusalem, the Beta Israel group of Ethiopia is accepted by the majority of Jews and by the nation of Israel as being historically Jewish.
  • It was fairly common for Africans to keep other Africans (as in prisoners of war) as slaves, but this was nothing like the slavery that took place in the US, Caribbean, West Indies, South America. Slavery in Africa was more of an indentured servitude with a beginning and an end. Many slaves ended up marrying into the families they served. What’s important to note here is that slaves maintained their humanity and were not “born into” slavery. The child of a slave was born free. “Africans sold their own people as slaves” is a stock argument White Americans use when the subject of slavery comes up.
  • Africa was not a country. Africans were not selling “their own”, they were selling their enemies, just as the Greeks and Romans once did. Africa, then as now, was made up of different countries. They were no more selling “their own” than, say, “Europeans” were killing “their own” during the Holocaust.
  • Most African countries did not sell slaves and some even fought against it. But because Europeans back then could control the supply of guns there was little Africans could do to stop it.
  • The Transatlantic slave trade was on a much greater scale than anything the Africans or anyone else ever did in the history of slavery. Countries were destroyed and millions died. Over 12 million were sold in less than 400 years, something so huge that it changed the genetic map of the world.
  • The Transatlantic slave trade was racist. The African slave trade, for all of its other ills, was not that. Neither was the Greek and Roman slave trade. So slavery in places like Haiti, Barbados and America was much more cruel.

Whether or not Black American have Jewish ancestry is not the most important issue to me. Even if it could be conclusively proven that a Black American are partially genetically descended from the biblical Israelite, the question for me is what do we do now if we are the descendant of the biblical Hebrews of the Old Testament, "God Chosen People". I mean if you ask me it seem more believable that African American are the real people to fulfill all the blessings and curses in Deuteronomy 28 (look it up and compare it) then what we call Jews in America.

Below I posted pictures and videos of my experiences at the slave trade in Badagry Nigeria.

How Is The Steam Room At The Gym Beneficial To You

So I been thinking about purchasing a personal steamer to help aid my hair back to being healthy but by me being so cheap and feeling guilty when I spend large amount of money on myself when my kids could used that money ( I know.... working on that) by default I started thinking of other ways I could steam my hair with out purchasing a expensive hair steamer or paying a beautician a lot of money to do it for me. That is when the sauna/ Steam room at the gym pop up in my head and I was like wait I pay $20.00 ( well its free now with United Health insurance if I go 12 times a month) for a gym membership and never used the Sauna /Steam room. So I started thinking maybe I could wash my hair at the gym once a month with protein and deep condition and use the steam room to aid my hair back to being healthier and give me that steam treatment that everybody is raving about. But it didn't stop there with my thoughts I then began to become curious to know what other benefits the steam room/ Sauna had to offer me. So I did some research and came across this article written by Jennifer D'Angelo Friedman called The Steam Room at the Gym: Does It Actually Do Anything?  The article talks about the sauna being a  dry heat while the steam room gives off wet, humid heat. But what are they for? One definition states that they both "eliminate toxins through sweat, ease joint pain, improve circulation and strengthen the immune system". I was like hey why not used the stream room to help aid my hair back to health while also helping to aid my body as well, knocking two stone out with one. If your interested in reading more about the benefits of a steam room and a sauna you can click the link right here http://www.self.com/blogs/flash/2011/11/the-steam-room-at-the-gym-does.html or if your like me and wish someone would just buy you
a hair steamer already I heard that huetiful has the best one and you can click the link right here to check out their hair steamer and the benefit of steaming your hair especially for natural like me. http://huetiful.myshopify.com/

“Seven Foods You Should Never Eat "

When I came across this article written by ERIKA NICOLE KENDALL called “Seven Foods You Should Never Eat "We asked a simple question: 'What foods do you avoid?”. I was surprised at the lack of knowledge I had about what I though was eating healthy. I mean I know that organic is best when it comes to buying food but I was sure that the can tomatoes, salmon and even  the microwave popcorn I purchase once in a while was ok to have and feed my family……But I guess I was wrong ?!? Checked out the article below to find out what was on the list of seven foods you should never eat and what alternative you can eat to stay on the healthy track, possibly bring you better health and I don’t know about you….. But a peace of mind.

1. The Endocrinologist Won’t Eat: Canned Tomatoes
Fredrick Vom Saal, is an endocrinologist at the University of Missouri who studies bisphenol-A.
The problem: The resin linings of tin cans contain bisphenol-A, a synthetic estrogen that has been linked to ailments ranging from reproductive problems to heart disease, diabetes, and obesity. Unfortunately, acidity (a prominent characteristic of tomatoes) causes BPA to leach into your food. Studies show that the BPA in most people’s body exceeds the amount that suppresses sperm production or causes chromosomal damage to the eggs of animals. “You can get 50 mcg of BPA per liter out of a tomato can, and that’s a level that is going to impact people, particularly the young,” says vom Saal. “I won’t go near canned tomatoes.”
The solution: Choose tomatoes in glass bottles (which do not need resin linings), such as the brands Bionaturae and Coluccio. You can also get several types in Tetra Pak boxes, like Trader Joe’s and Pomi.
Budget tip: If your recipe allows, substitute bottled pasta sauce for canned tomatoes. Look for pasta sauces with low sodium and few added ingredients, or you may have to adjust the recipe.

2. The Farmer Won’t Eat: Corn-Fed Beef
Joel Salatin is co-owner of Polyface Farms and author of half a dozen books on sustainable farming.
The problem: Cattle evolved to eat grass, not grains. But farmers today feed their animals corn and soybeans, which fatten up the animals faster for slaughter. But more money for cattle farmers (and lower prices at the grocery store) means a lot less nutrition for us. A recent comprehensive study conducted by the USDA and researchers from Clemson University found that compared with corn-fed beef, grass-fed beef is higher in beta-carotene, vitamin E, omega-3s, conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), calcium, magnesium, and potassium; lower in inflammatory omega-6s; and lower in saturated fats that have been linked to heart disease. “We need to respect the fact that cows are herbivores, and that does not mean feeding them corn and chicken manure,” says Salatin.
The solution: Buy grass-fed beef, which can be found at specialty grocers, farmers’ markets, and nationally at Whole Foods. It’s usually labeled because it demands a premium, but if you don’t see it, ask your butcher.
Budget tip: Cuts on the bone are cheaper because processors charge extra for deboning. You can also buy direct from a local farmer, which can be as cheap as $5 per pound. To find a farmer near you, search eatwild.com.
3. The Toxicologist Won’t Eat: Microwave Popcorn
Olga Naidenko, is a senior scientist for the Environmental Working Group.
The problem: Chemicals, including perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA), in the lining of the bag, are part of a class of compounds that may be linked to infertility in humans, according to a recent study from UCLA. In animal testing, the chemicals cause liver, testicular, and pancreatic cancer. Studies show that microwaving causes the chemicals to vaporize–and migrate into your popcorn. “They stay in your body for years and accumulate there,” says Naidenko, which is why researchers worry that levels in humans could approach the amounts causing cancers in laboratory animals. DuPont and other manufacturers have promised to phase out PFOA by 2015 under a voluntary EPA plan, but millions of bags of popcorn will be sold between now and then.
The solution: Pop natural kernels the old-fashioned way: in a skillet. For flavorings, you can add real butter or dried seasonings, such as dillweed, vegetable flakes, or soup mix.
Budget tip: Popping your own popcorn is dirt cheap.
What happen to this way of making popcorn.... oh I know laziness lol

4. The Farm Director Won’t Eat: Nonorganic Potatoes
Jeffrey Moyer is the chair of the National Organic Standards Board.
The problem: Root vegetables absorb herbicides, pesticides, and fungicides that wind up in soil. In the case of potatoes–the nation’s most popular vegetable–they’re treated with fungicides during the growing season, then sprayed with herbicides to kill off the fibrous vines before harvesting. After they’re dug up, the potatoes are treated yet again to prevent them from sprouting. “Try this experiment: Buy a conventional potato in a store, and try to get it to sprout. It won’t,” says Moyer, who is also farm director of the Rodale Institute (also owned by Rodale Inc., the publisher of Prevention). “I’ve talked with potato growers who say point-blank they would never eat the potatoes they sell. They have separate plots where they grow potatoes for themselves without all the chemicals.”
The solution: Buy organic potatoes. Washing isn’t good enough if you’re trying to remove chemicals that have been absorbed into the flesh.
Budget tip: Organic potatoes are only $1 to $2 a pound, slightly more expensive than conventional spuds.
5. The Fisheries Expert Won’t Eat: Farmed Salmon
Dr. David Carpenter, director of the Institute for Health and the Environment at the University at Albany, published a major study in the journal Science on contamination in fish.
The problem: Nature didn’t intend for salmon to be crammed into pens and fed soy, poultry litter, and hydrolyzed chicken feathers. As a result, farmed salmon is lower in vitamin D and higher in contaminants, including carcinogens, PCBs, brominated flame retardants, and pesticides such as dioxin and DDT. According to Carpenter, the most contaminated fish come from Northern Europe, which can be found on American menus. “You could eat one of these salmon dinners every 5 months without increasing your risk of cancer,” says Carpenter, whose 2004 fish contamination study got broad media attention. “It’s that bad.” Preliminary science has also linked DDT to diabetes and obesity, but some nutritionists believe the benefits of omega-3s outweigh the risks. There is also concern about the high level of antibiotics and pesticides used to treat these fish. When you eat farmed salmon, you get dosed with the same drugs and chemicals.
The solution: Switch to wild-caught Alaska salmon. If the package says fresh Atlantic, it’s farmed. There are no commercial fisheries left for wild Atlantic salmon.
Budget tip: Canned salmon, almost exclusively from wild catch, can be found for as little as $3 a can.

6. The Cancer Researcher Won’t Drink: Milk Produced With Artificial Hormones
Rick North is project director of the Campaign for Safe Food at the Oregon Physicians for Social Responsibility and former CEO of the Oregon division of the American Cancer Society.
The problem: Milk producers treat their dairy cattle with recombinant bovine growth hormone (rBGH or rBST, as it is also known) to boost milk production. But rBGH also increases udder infections and even pus in the milk. It also leads to higher levels of a hormone called insulin-like growth factor in milk. In people, high levels of IGF-1 may contribute to breast, prostate, and colon cancers. “When the government approved rBGH, it was thought that IGF-1 from milk would be broken down in the human digestive tract,” says North. As it turns out, the casein in milk protects most of it, according to several independent studies. “There’s not 100 percent proof that this is increasing cancer in humans,” admits North. “However, it’s banned in most industrialized countries.”
The solution: Check labels for rBGH-free, rBST-free, produced without artificial hormones, or organic milk. These phrases indicate rBGH-free products.
Budget tip: Try Wal-Mart’s Great Value label, which does not use rBGH.
7. The Organic-Foods Expert Won’t Eat: Conventional Apples
Mark Kastel, a former executive for agribusiness, is co-director of the Cornucopia Institute, a farm-policy research group that supports organic foods.
The problem: If fall fruits held a “most doused in pesticides contest,” apples would win. Why? They are individually grafted (descended from a single tree) so that each variety maintains its distinctive flavor. As such, apples don’t develop resistance to pests and are sprayed frequently. The industry maintains that these residues are not harmful. But Kastel counters that it’s just common sense to minimize exposure by avoiding the most doused produce, like apples. “Farm workers have higher rates of many cancers,” he says. And increasing numbers of studies are starting to link a higher body burden of pesticides (from all sources) with Parkinson’s disease.
The solution: Buy organic apples.
Budget tip: If you can’t afford organic, be sure to wash and peel them. But Kastel personally refuses to compromise. “I would rather see the trade-off being that I don’t buy that expensive electronic gadget,” he says. “Just a few of these decisions will accommodate an organic diet for a family.”

So after reading this is their anything in your cabinet or fridge that you can possible change to become a healthier you ? Really, I remember when we used to pop our own popcorn and used to cut up our own  french fries from scratch and fry them ourselves ( a little off topic) but the point is if we can go back to the old days of just making and growing stuff ourselves. Just maybe we can cut out some of the preservative in our food.

Dhealthstore.com Famous Full Body Detox (20 days)

Hello Readers today I decided to start a Detox called the Famous Full Body Detox by a master herbalist, health researcher, metaphysician, and spiritual counselor named Djehuty Ma'at-Ra.  I decided to start this Detox well more like a new chapter in my life of being fit mentally, spiritually and physically after a shocking blow to my ego happens when my husband who has been on a journey to lose weight for the last two month jump on the scale and was 17 pounds away from weighing the same amount of weight as me. See for months I have been eating healthy (cheating once in a while with sugary snacks and pizza) not really working out and been maintaining my weight. But today when my husband jumps on the scale and I saw that shocking number.  The thought of him being smaller then me not only ashamed me but also scared me. That is when I knew it was time to stop playing with my weight and gets back to that sexy woman he first married of weighing 145. See I met my husband on the plus size so if he can lose weight in this marriage then there is no excuse for me not to be able to keep my figure right and be the best looking wife. So here I am 9/1/2013 on a 20 day journey to detoxify, cleanse and purify my mind body and soul.  On this 20 days (three weeks) detox I will post on my blog every week pictures of me and what I have experience with this detox. I also plan to read more, watch more informative documentary, pray more, and work out work out work out and work out oh and did I say work out lol. I am looking forward to this journey and looking forward to sharing it with you guy.

End Weight 188.8

How I look

How I look at the Beginning of Detox
How I look at the End of Detox
The first week 9/1/13-9/8/13 I only lost three pounds and I was disappointed by that. After all I did cut out added sugar, all meat, pasta, bread and wine. I ate 80% raw vegetable and fruit and the other 10% was cook vegetable and beans. I also notice how my skin started to sag around my stomach. I experience puffy eyes and my skin broke out. If it wasn't for Djehuty Ma'at Ra pamphlet explaining that this might happen I probably would stop this detox all together and go back to the 100 sugar calorie diet that I did have success with in the past. But the plus side of things is that after two days of feeling sluggish and tired all of a sudden I had a burst of energy and I started sleeping like a baby waking up feeling refresh and ready to tackle the worlds. Also before the detox I was experiencing bad headache from sinus problems but after two days on the detox it all stop. If only I could loose more weight and stop feeling so bloated I would love this detox. This week I plan to only eat raw fruits and vegetable no flax seed wraps, do more cardio and less weight lifting and see what happen. Oh yea I have been going to the bathroom twice a day having a BM ( I know TMI) and urinating all the time, which before I did not. So hopefully I see more weight lost and lower number on the scale ( maybe I should not weight lift at all right now since muscle weigh more then fat..ummmmm) and feeling so darn bloated from all the fruits and vegetable. Also during this detox I have been checking my urine for my alkaline level and the result in the morning is very low like 5.5 or something. So I am confused if I am eating raw veg and fruit shouldn't my alkaline levels be higher....Stay tune picture of my body progress ( not happy).

The second week 9/9/13-9/15/13 I had so much energy. Even though at time I felt say and frustrated about what other were eating around me I continue on my journey only slipping one time to take a bite of a  homemade pizza that I made with wheat pita bread and organic tomato sauce ( my way of making excuses to why I ate it lol) to see if it was okay for the kids to eat it lol. But I continue eating a lot of fruit and vegetable  which made me feel bloated at time and have really bad gas.

The third week 9/16/13- 9/21/13 I started to spend more time wanting to research food and the benefits of them more then ever. See I was getting frustrated that I was not loosing the weight that most said they did on the detox (15-30 pounds) when I was eating 80% raw fruits and vegetables. That is when I came across a article about smoothie being possibly bad for you if you used to many fruits to make them. That could explain why maybe my skin broke out and that I didn't really loose that many pounds. See I was making smoothie two time out of the day with 90% fruit because I was like I am following his rule by only eating raw fruits and vegetable. But it turn out I was eating to much sugar in my diet even though it was natural sugar. So the last three days I only ate vegetable and used one fruit in my smoothie to make it a little sweet. It didn't help that I was about to come on my period which made me being able to calculate how much weight I lost with lifting weights and working out three times a week even harder. But I can say once I cut out adding too much fruit to my smoothie and instead adding more vegetable I did loose a couple pound the last week of this Detox.

Would I do the detox again? Yes because I like the energy level that the herbs gave me. I slept better and was in a better mood. I didn't loose the weight I wanted to but over all it help me to detox my mind and hopefully my insides. It also help me to jump start my journey on becoming a vegan/pedestrian and my weigh loss journey. I will try to do this every year around April 1 but will try the woman detox instead of the full body detox the next time. If your looking to loose weight you probably can without the detox just eating raw fruits and vegetable. My husband did and lost more weight then me. But I like to think the herbs help with aiding my body with rebooting itself and that is why I would try it again.

What Are The Benefits of Detoxifying, Cleansing and Purifying Your Body?
Detoxify your body, you open the door to healing and rejuvenation; in other words, you’re turning back the hands of time on aging or degenerating. Ideally, we as humans should reach and live a life longevity of at least 120 years; however, most people will be happy just to reach age 65 (the federal retirement age).
Detoxifying our bodies answers our body’s prayer for us to give it an internal shower and tune up. We are conscious about cleaning the external body, but not the internal body. Detoxifying our body helps us to eliminate toxic waste accumulations, mucus, parasites and worms (that steal what little nutrition we get or have in our bodies), excess fat, fluid buildup (cellulite), old and hardened fecal matter buildup, and many more unsightly and odorous things that play a pivotal role in sabotaging our health.
The common results of most people after performing Djehuty’s Famous Full Body Detox include but are not limited to: more resilient skin and complexion, weight reduction/release (10-30 pounds), enhanced energy levels, enhanced and clearer sense of feeling and thinking, a more positive outlook on life, enhanced willpower, enhanced immunity throughout the year, more normalized and regulated body functions, regularity of bowel movements, eradication of cravings (especially sugar, junk food, etc.), improved and enhanced circulation and improved and enhanced libido.

Lesson Learn:God’s gifts and God’s call are under full warranty....

I never understood the saying “The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away; may the name of the LORD be praised.” (Job 1:21). Yes praise the lord because you are in a battle with the devil but do not think for once that God has taking your gifts away.
But what if you have suffered loss? The temptation may be to blame God for your loss, as if God had a change of heart. But God is not fickle. He does not change like shifting shadows. He is an extraordinary giver who never takes back his gifts.  A girlfriend of mys' told me a story of her trial and tribulation to keep a job when the devil was trying to take her joy and her blessing that God had for her. Her testimony humbles me and also help me to realize that I often blame God for my lost and sorrows when instead asking him to form a shield around me and putting my faith in him because it was obvious that I was under attack by the devil not to receive the gifts he had in store for me.
There a saying in the bible that “God’s gifts and God’s call are under full warranty – never canceled, never rescinded.” (Rms 11:29, MSG)
So if God is doing the giving, who is doing the taking? Again, God provided the answer through Jesus:
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” (Joh 10:10)
Meaning we ought not to be confused about these two different roles. One is a giver, the other is a taker. If you have been given something good, then give thanks to God. But if you’ve been robbed, do not blame God. He is not behind your loss.

So I have to remind myself and others should as well that God did not kill your love ones. He did not steal your livelihood and make you sick. You’ve been robbed! The devil is having a go at you. Do not sit there in the ashes and cry about it, get up and fight! Are you a warrior or a weakling? Are you a victor or a victim?”
If you think that God gives and takes away, then you have more faith in karma than grace I know I once did. Karma says what goes around comes around. If you are healthy now, you will likely be sick tomorrow. If you are prospering now, poverty’s waiting just around the next corner. When disappointments and hardships come, you will not be surprised. You will just throw in the towel and say, “I knew it was too good to last.” That is why I can only be around positive thinkers and fighters and not debbie downers and depress people because they have gave up on the battle of fighting the war. Like my husband states nothing good comes easy…you might have to fight for what you have. So here is to team fighter and congrats to my friends for not allowing the devil to steal her joy by fighting and keeping her faith.

Message to Woman.....

I am going to say this as a woman a lot time we meet a man we want so much to be happy. We want so much to be in a relationship and to have the white picket fence and all the stuff romantic movies tell us we should have. But reality is you have to take your time when you meet a man especially when you get older because you get to an age that you do not want to deal with the BS. You should want a man that has his stuff together, knows how to treat a woman, who has a lot of confidence in himself, has a career, who not having issues about whom he is and needing to mature as a man. I know I got to a place where I wanted to be love and respected and most woman do. A lot time we rush and we allow what between are legs to dictate what really need to be done. A lot of time relationship starts off with passion and not enough time getting to know each other and some mistake passion for love. But once that’s over what do you have? Sometime I think couples who have so much together sometime needs to know what it’s like as a couple to have nothing. Then you will see how strong you are as a husband and wife when you have zero and your able to still hold it together….. a lot of time people think oh were married, but that person has to be your friend and someone who is your friend love you and respect you and will never hurt you because friends is a title most of the time that is earned with time.
